Happy Hearts Matter
Some top tips for a happier, healthier you!
There is no escaping the dangers of mental health, finally it is becoming a less taboo subject and people are being more open about how they are really feeling. That said, we are still fighting a battle daily, whether that be our own or our loved ones.
We at Happy Tiddlers value our mental health and yours so we thought we'd share some top tips for a happier healthier lifestyle.

Eat Well
Everyday, eat something that makes you feel great and is good for you!

There is a huge link between our minds and our guts, if food makes you feel bloated and sluggish, don't eat it! The food we eat affects how we feel.
Food which is classed as good mood foods are; blueberries, avocado, kale, marmite, sweet potato, spinach,
dark chocolate (yes you can have chocolate!), yogurt and banana's to name a few.

Sleep Well
We need around 7-9 hours sleep a night, sleep enables us to have clear minds, make memories and problem solve.

Sleep is vital for mental health, never underestimate the importance of a nap if you have had a sleepless night!
If you have a baby, where possible sleep when they sleep. This is your time to catch up on what's good for you, the washing can wait!

Go Outside
Research shows there is a huge positive impact on our brains when spending time outside.

There are many benefits for our emotional and physical wellbeing by being in the fresh air and in nature.

Get up and out, even if it's just for 5 minutes a day!

Be Silent
Life is busy, even more so once we have families. Life is noisy and busy and there never seems to be any chance to just sit.

But there is, and you don't need long to make it effective.

Take 5 minutes a day, sit in silence, do some yoga, whatever you wish, just to clear the mind and be at one with yourself.

Silence is so liberating and it's affect on our mental health is incredible.

Do Something You Love Everyday
Now this can be anything! Take a bath on your own, listen to some music, read a book, run, cycle, bake, whatever it is that puts you in your happy place...

Everyday, do something that makes you happy, do this regularly and it will give you a boost.

This is so important for your sense of wellbeing.

Be Kind To You
This is the one we forget the most, and it's also the most important.

In fact, we are usually quite the opposite to ourselves. We can be self critical, harsh, our own worst enemies at times.

Think about the words you use when you speak to yourself, would you do this to anyone else?

Be kind, use positive words and remember, you are enough.

Be Thankful
When the day is done, look back and think about what you are grateful for.

Keep a journal and write down three things before you go to sleep that you have to be thankful for.

Gratitude journals are positive ways to recognise that no matter how tough the day has been there are always good things to remember.

When you don't do this, the bad stuff gets to take all the power and leave you feeling negative, who needs that before they go to sleep?

Don't let it, make your final thought a positive one, it works trust me!
