BABY PRE-SCHOOL CLASSES

Adult accompanied age-based classes to meet your baby's developmental capability.

8 - 12 Weeks

URCHINS

It’s never too early to start swimming with your baby. Water is a natural environment for a new-born having been immersed in the embryonic fluid for the past 9 months. By introducing a variety of holds and using gentle floating techniques, our Urchin class promotes a safe and nurturing environment where both you and baby can enjoy the bonding experience of water.

3 -   9 Months

SMALL FRY

One of the first steps of introducing your baby to the water, we start very slowly to help build the confidence of you and your baby. We continue to use gentle floating techniques and flowing movements to help you and your baby move freely in the water as they begin to explore their new environment.

9 - 18 Months

GUPPIES

Your baby will be starting to notice their surroundings more now, we use toys to drive engagement. Safety is always at the fore of our learning so we encourage your baby to hold on to the side and start to learn basic commands.

As your little one is getting stronger now they able to show you more of what they want.


Reaching and kicking are great fun as we begin to explore more child-led learning and development.

18 Months - 2 1/2 Years

TINY

Confidence and exploration are the key things you will see in your little one at this age. We are working with their hand-eye coordination and the ability to move more freely around the pool. We focus on building skills in the water, keeping safety in mind, we teach the children about entering the pool safely.

2 1/2 - 3 1/2 Years

TETRA

Your little one will want to be more independent at this age so we try new things to encourage them to be a little more daring, if they wish.


We are looking for evidence that they understand the safety aspects we have been working on. 

3 1/2 - 4 1/2 Years

TOTS

We can start to puts lots of the previous teachings into practice. We think about body position, arm and leg propulsion and improving their breathing control. The tiddlers will start to link moves together as they move towards independent swimming.

INDEPENDENT SWIMMERS

Independent classes designed to promote independence in the water.

3 1/2 - 4 1/2 Years

BABY SHARKS

This is a preschool class for tiddlers who are ready to go it alone. The teacher will be in the water to help your baby shark put all their skills into practice as they swim independently. Buoyancy aids are used to support the children on the beginning of their independent swim journey.

Baby Sharks Graduates

LITTLE SHARKS

This is a class designed for our Baby Sharks who are excelling beyond their years and are ready to work on the Sharks levels but are too young to join the older children.


This class allows your tiddler to continue to work through STA Stanley Certifications while still in a small class during school hours.

4 1/2 Years +

SHARKS 1

For those who may not have much experience and may be a little nervous, requiring some extra encouragement. This class has both a Teacher and Assistant in the pool.

4 1/2 Years +

SHARKS 2

This class is for children who have some experience of swimming and can swim 5m unaided on both their front and back. They must be confident in the water and ready to push themselves to swimming 10m. This class has a Teacher and Assistant in the pool.

6 1/2 Years +

SHARKS 3

This class is for children who are competent swimmers and can swim 10m unaided on both their front and back.


We seek to improve their stroke technique and stamina. On completion of this level; your child will be able to complete a number of different strokes with ease.

This is the last stage of your journey with Happy Tiddlers.

18 Years +

ADULTS

This class is designed to help all Adults either beginning or getting back into swimming. 

​

Classes are designed with you in mind. We teach adult swimmers at their own pace, working on the specific swim strokes they would like to master.


Most adults join with a personal goal, we help you work towards achieving this goal whilst working through the relevant Adult STA certification.


Other interested adults have been those training for Triathlons or gaining muscle strength due to previous injuries.
